8 ounce(s) fettucini
24 ounce(s) lean ground turkey
1onion, chopped
1 cup(s) tomato sauce
2 tablespoon(s) tomato paste
2 cup(s) barley, cooked
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) black pepper
1 cup(s) Parmesan cheese, shredded
Directions
Place a stockpot over high heat and add water and some 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil.
Add the pasta and cook according to package directions.
Meanwhile, place a skillet over medium heat, add the ground turkey and onions, and cook for 8 minutes.
Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, and 1/2 cup water.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and cook for 10 minutes on low heat.
Drain the pasta and add them to the skillet. Stir in the barley, remaining salt, black pepper, and cheese.
Make sure cheese is completely melted before serving.
