Homemade Seasoned French Fries

When trying to get healthy, french fries are usually the first thing to go. With these spuds, you can have your fries and eat them too. Here, a healthy rendition that isn't served up with a side of fat and extra calories.

Homemade Seasoned French Fries

  • 6 Idaho potatoes
  • 1 cup(s) flour
  • 1 teaspoon(s) onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) paprika
  • 1/2 cup(s) water, or more if needed
  • 1 tablespoon(s) canola oil

Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
    2. Wash and peel potatoes.
    3. Cut potatoes into french fry cuts.
    4. Place cut potato strips into a bowl of cold water to prevent browning.
    5. In a medium sized bowl, mix flour, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, oil and salt. Add water to the mixture to make it is wet enough to drizzle, but not soupy.  
    6. Dip each potato into the mixture, then place fry in a baking sheet, making sure not to overlap strips. They can stick together. 
    7. Bake fries for 45 minutes. Let cool and serve!
