Low Fat Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs

Low Fat Spaghetti and Turkey Meatballs

  • 16 ounce(s) lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup(s) bread crumbs
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon(s) parsley
  • 1 tablespoon(s) reduced fat Parmesan
  • 1/4 tablespoon(s) freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoon(s) egg white
  • 3 1/4 cup(s) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 package spaghetti

Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray. 
    2. In a large bowl combine the ground turkey, bread crumbs, garlic, parsley, 1 tablespoon reduced fat Parmesan, pepper and egg whites and mix gently with your hands. 
    3. Shape about a tablespoon of mixture into a meatball and place on the baking sheet.
    4. Continue making the meatballs until mixture is finished, leaving 1/2-inch space between them. 
    5. Bake meatballs for 20-25 minutes.
    6. In a large pot over medium-high heat, simmer the meatballs in spaghetti sauce for 30 minutes.
    7. Meanwhile, in a large pot of water, cook the spaghetti according to the package directions.
    8. Ladle the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti and sprinke with Parmesan. Serve.
