Ingredients

For 0008 Person(s)

Recipe

  • 1 1/4 cup(s) frozen spinach
  • 1/2 cup(s) firm feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) Fresh ground pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 1/3 tablespoon(s) dill, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon(s) garlic, minced
  • 1 puff pastry package (10 X 9.5 inch)

Directions

    1. Press 2 cloves of  garlic.
    2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
    3. Thaw frozen spinach according to package direction. Drain spinach, squeezing the excess liquid from it. In a bowl, mix the spinach, feta, garlic, pepper, dill and nutmeg together.
    4. Flour a clean, dry flat area. Lay out the puff pastry on the floured surface. Flour the top of the dough. Roll out the puff pastry until it is half as thick  and about 24 by 12 inches. Cut into 3-inch squares trimming if necessary. There should be about 32 squares when done. Flour and stack and set aside for later.
    5. Fill a bowl with some luke warm water.  Place a couple teaspoons of filling in the top half of the square. Dip a finger into the water and moisten the edges of the top half with water. Fold the bottom half over to the edges of the top half. Use a fork to seal the edges.
    6. Place finished pockets on a nonstick baking sheet and bake about 15 minutes until golden brown and puffy. Serve warm.
